Maya Iman is a visual storyteller working across film and photography to craft narratives rooted in authenticity, emotion, and cultural resonance.

Her practice is deeply collaborative—centered on creating safe, intentional spaces where subjects are seen in their full humanity. Through her lens, Maya challenges traditional image-making and reclaims space for honest expression, especially within communities of color. Her work serves as both invitation and archive, capturing the beauty, complexity, and connection found in shared stories.

Born and raised in Chicago, Maya is currently based in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, and is available for commissions worldwide. She is represented by Glasshouse Artists for commercial photography across North America and currently serves as Senior Art Director at UWG Inc.
